More than a quick prescription check
Structured Medication Reviews
When you’re taking several medicines at once, especially for more than one condition, things can quietly drift, doses that no longer make sense together, medicines that overlap unnecessarily, or ones nobody’s reconsidered in years. A Structured Medication Review takes a proper, unhurried look at all of it. Contact us if you think you’d benefit from one.
What Makes This Different From a Normal Check
A routine dispensing check confirms your prescription is safe to hand over. A Structured Medication Review goes much further, looking at your entire medicine list together, how they interact, whether they’re still needed, and whether anything’s causing side effects you might not have connected to the medicine itself.
Who Tends to Be Invited
This service is generally aimed at people on multiple regular medicines, particularly those managing several long-term conditions at once, or anyone who’s had a recent significant change in their health or care needs.
What We Actually Look For
We check for medicines that may no longer be necessary, doses that might need adjusting, potential interactions between different treatments, and whether you’re actually able to take everything as prescribed, practically and comfortably.
How Long a Review Takes
It’s a longer, more detailed conversation than a typical pharmacy chat, usually planned in advance so there’s proper time to go through everything without rushing.
What Happens Afterward
Any changes we recommend are usually discussed with your GP before anything is altered. This isn’t about making changes unilaterally; it’s about flagging things worth a second look and agreeing on next steps together.
