What Cryotherapy Treats
This treatment is commonly used for warts, verrucas, and certain skin tags, using extreme cold to destroy the targeted tissue so the body can clear it naturally over the following days and weeks.
How the Treatment Works
A precisely controlled freezing agent is applied directly to the lesion for a short, measured period, freezing the affected tissue while minimising impact on the surrounding skin.
What Happens During Your Appointment
We’ll examine the area first to confirm cryotherapy is appropriate, then apply the treatment, which typically takes just a few minutes per lesion. You might feel a brief stinging or cold sensation during application.
What to Expect Afterward
Some redness, mild swelling, or blistering around the treated area is normal in the days that follow, as the lesion gradually breaks down. We’ll give you clear aftercare guidance before you leave.
When More Than One Session Is Needed
Stubborn lesions, particularly verrucas, sometimes need more than one round of treatment spaced a few weeks apart. We’ll be upfront if that’s likely rather than promising a guaranteed single-session fix.
