Smoking Cessation Support

Quitting smoking is genuinely hard, and doing it alone makes it harder than it needs to be. Our smoking cessation service pairs you with a pharmacist for regular support and access to products that actually help, at no cost to you. Get in touch when you’re ready to start.

How the Programme Works

We start with a conversation about your smoking habits, previous quit attempts if any, and what’s likely to trip you up this time. From there, we build a plan around products and check-ins that suit your situation, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

Support Options Available

Nicotine replacement therapy, patches, gum, lozenges, comes in various forms and combinations, and we’ll help you find what actually works for your cravings rather than guessing. Some people do better combining products than relying on just one.

Building a Plan Around Your Actual Habits

Smoking triggers are personal, stress, socialising, boredom, routine. Part of what we do is help you identify yours specifically, so the plan accounts for the moments you’re most likely to reach for a cigarette, not just a generic quit date.

Handling Setbacks Without Giving Up Entirely

Slipping up doesn’t mean starting from scratch or that it’s not worth continuing. If it happens, we’ll talk through what triggered it and adjust the plan rather than treating one cigarette as a full relapse.

Why Support Actually Improves Your Odds

Quit attempts with regular support are significantly more likely to succeed than going it alone with willpower and nothing else. Regular check-ins keep you accountable and catch problems with your plan before they derail the whole attempt.

Starting Your Quit Attempt

There’s no wrong time to start, contact us whenever you’re ready and we’ll get you set up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is smoking cessation support free at the pharmacy?
Yes, the programme itself and the pharmacist support involved are free on the NHS. Some nicotine replacement products may carry a standard prescription charge unless you’re exempt.
What stop smoking aids can a pharmacist provide?
We can offer nicotine replacement therapy in various forms, patches, gum, and lozenges among others, and help you work out which combination suits your cravings best.
How long does a stop smoking programme last?
It varies by person, but typically involves regular check-ins over several weeks to a few months, tapering off as your quit attempt stabilises.
Can vaping help me quit smoking?
Vaping can be part of a quit strategy for some people, though it’s not identical to licensed nicotine replacement therapy. We’re happy to talk through whether it’s a sensible option for you specifically.
What if I relapse during my quit attempt?
It happens to a lot of people and doesn’t mean starting over from nothing. Get in touch and we’ll adjust your plan rather than treat it as a failed attempt.
